Biratnagar Warriors register second win in EPL

Kathmandu: Biratnagar Warriors have edged the Pokhara Rhinos in the ongoing Everest Premier League (EPL) T-20 cricket championship. 

The Biratnagar Warriors under the captaincy of the national cricket team skipper Paras Khadka defeated Pokhara Rhinos by three wickets in the match held at the TU International Cricket Ground at Kirtipur today. This is the second straight victory for the Warriors in the EPL. 

Pokhara Rhinos who were sent to bat first after losing the toss gave a 123-run victory target to Biratnagar Warriors. Biratnagar met the target in 19.4 overs losing its seven wickets. 

Ansuman Rath made the highest number of 60 runs for Biratnagar. Similarly, Babar Hayatt contributed 22 runs and Paras Khadka 11 runs for Biratnagar Warriors' win. 

In the bowling department, Isharulla and Susan Bhari of Pokhara Rhinos took two wickets each while Sunil Dhamala and captain Shakti Gauchan took one wicket each. 

Pokhara accumulated 122 runs in 20 overs losing their six wickets. Rajesh Pulami Magar made 30 runs, Sunil Dhamala and Taj Walli 18 runs each and Saurav Khanal made 16 runs for Pokhara Rhinos. 

Biratnagar Warriors' Paras Khadka took three wickets while Basanta Regmi, Ram Naresh Giri and Avinas Karna one wicket each.
