Dr KC warns of hunger strike amidst election fever

Kathmandu- At the time when the election fever has gripped the country, senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Dr Govinda KC has warned of another hunger strike.

Dr KC has given a six-day ultimatum to the government to roll back the impeachment motion registered at the parliament against the Chief Justice (CJ) Sushila Karki within six days.

He has warned of starting another fast-unto-death if the government fails to address his demands by May 23.
The Supreme Court (SC) on May 5 had issued an interim order against the impeachment motion registered by the government against Chief Justice Sushila Karki.

A single bench of Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana issued the order responding over the writ filed by Advocates Kanchan Krishna Neupane and Sunil Ranjan Singh.

The impeachment motion has been already tabled in the parliament despite protest by 11 opposition parties including the CPN-UML, the main opposition party.
