Easterly and westerly winds cause rain in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu - Most of the parts of the country witnessed rainfall today noon due to effects of the Easterly and Westerly Winds. 

The Kathmandu Valley along with few eastern and western parts of the country saw cloudy weather and subsequent rainfall, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. 

Meteorologist Sujan Subedi told RSS that the monsoon has become active in the country with the influence of both the winds. The weather pattern has been changing and it will continue for few more days, he added. 

The Department has also made forecast of plenty of rainfall in many places of the mountainous and Terai regions on Saturday. "The mountainous areas will be cloudy while some places in other regions will be partly cloudy," shared meteorologist Subedi. 

Today the Kathmandu Valley experienced heavy rainfall that was measured 11 millimetres, causing disruption to traffic movement in some places. 

Similarly, Dharan and Dadeldhura recorded 17 and 9 milimetres of rainfall respectively, according to the DHM. The minimum temperature recorded in the Kathmandu valley was 18 degree Celsius while maximum temperature stood at 30. RSS
