On the occasion of 50th year reaching celebration between Asian Development Bank and Nepal, a joint photo exhibition was conducted in Kathmandu. Director of Asian Development Bank in Nepal Takehiko Nakao and Finance Secretary of Nepal government Shantaraj Subedi jointly inaugurated the the Photo Exhibition.
Expression his view on the photo exhibition program, the director of Asian Development Bank in Nepal Takehiko Nakao expressed his happiness saying that ADB was happy to become the developmental partner in the development and prospering Nepal for 50 years.
Similarly, Finance Secretary Shantaraj Subedi stated that Nepal was lagging behind in developmental work because the fund supported by the developmental parteners was not used appropriately.
Subedi was with a view that the fund and support provided by the international donors were misused by the concerned authority in the nation. He opined and demanded the proper use of the fund made available by the developmental partners.
Nepal is one of the under-developed nations. However, several developmental partners from the world have been extending their financial support in making Nepal as a prosper nation. But, due to lack of proper mechanism and interest of the concerned authority, the fund made available by the international communities is going in vain.
ADBs support has contributed to Nepals development with projects on road networks, education, energy urban infrastructure, agriculture, finance public management and gender equality and social inclusion.
A steady development partner through the political crises and natural calamities like the 2015 earthquake, ADB currently supports 32 projects and programs in Nepal of total of $1.71 billion.
