A section of road near Nepal Police Headquarters Naxal, Kathmandu collapsed early in the morning on Sunday. According to the locals, the road collapsed early this morning causing chaos. Due to the portion of the main thorofare being collapsed, transportation in the area got halt for several hours surrounding the area, stated the police.
The road portion collapsed due to the land extraction made by house that has been under construction. It is alleged that the road callapsed because of the over power made by the land pulling that has been made by Hilson Hotel, a newly under construction hotel. Talking to DCnepal.com regarding the road collapse, Rajendra Kumal, Assistant Police Inspector at Police Circle Kamlpokhari said the the incident occured while the construction party had dig the land up to 50 feet depth.
Responding to the incident, the locals gathered in the site stated that the huge sound that was made early in the morining had feared them like a massive earthquake hitting the area. "We were in a sleep when a strange sound hit the area," said Rabin Lama, a locoal.
As the road collapsed up to 25 meters in distance, the road section between Bhagawati Temple and Bal Mandir Chowk got blocked leaving all the vehicles plying to the area. However, the concerned authority including Nepal Police and traffic police are deployed in the area to normalize the situation and the traffice. Locals have shown their anguish blaming the Construction Company for negligence.
