Interview with John's mother

John Tamang, who got lost while hiking around Phulchoki hills a week back, was found on Wednesday. He was found inside the jungle in Phulchoki, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Narendra Chand, said.

"We have taken him to the B & B Hospital after finding him," DSP Chand had said, adding that the boy was all right and investigation would be carried out gradually on other matters pertaining to the incident.

The 17-year-old Tamang who studies at Ajaya Shiksha Sadan at local Thasikhel had been missing since January 25. All the three security bodies – Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Army – had been carrying out a search for him.

School principal Durga Bahadur Oli had taken 11 of his students including Tamang for hiking to Phulchoki last Thursday. Oli is currently under police custody.

In an interview, the mother of the kid Reema Tamang said that she was very happy after finding out that her son was safe and sound. Recalling the moment when she came to know that her son was found, Reema said that she received the good message while she was returning from police station.

“I was shocked and sat down on ground when I knew the news,” she said in the interview.
