Teej Special Sweet : Jeri/ Jalebi recipe

Jalebi, also known as Zulbia or Jeri in Nepali It is a sweet popular in countries. It is made by deep-frying maida flour (Plain flour or All-purpose flour) batter in pretzel or circular shapes, which are then soaked in sugar syrup. Here are the necessary ingredients to make Jeri: All purpose flour (maida), corn flour, turmeric powder, curd, sugar, water and oil.

First we will prepare batter for jeri. Take a bowl adding flour, corn flour, curd, and little turmeric powder for yellow colour. Then add some water and stir it properly till it gets mixed well. If the batter of jeri is prepared a night before then it would be very tasty as well as make very good.

But if it is urgent to make than minimum it should be soaked for 2 hours. Now, we will leave the batter we have made for jalebi for 2- 3 hours. Till then we will make sugar syrup for jeri. Adding sugar and water in a pot let it boil for while till sugar gets dissolve completely.

Now the batter of jeri too is ready now we will make jerry. Heat pan adding enough oil to fry and once oil is heat pour batter in oil in round shape as show in the video and as it gets brown take it out from oil and deep for 2- 3 seconds in sugar syrup. Like this make all jalebi and enjoy.
