Property worth more than 2.2 million rupees has been damaged in a fire that took place at a vehicle workshop in ward no. 1 of Phidim municipality. The workshop was run by Dipen Shrestha of ward no. 4 in the same municipality. Various machinery and tools in the workshop as well as some vehicles undergoing repair and maintenance were gutted in the fire, police said. The fire that began at around mid-night was put out with the help of fire tender and local residents. It took two hours to contain the fire. In course of the fire, explosion of gas cylinders used to carry out wielding in the workshop had terrorized the locals. The origin of the fire is not yet known, and investigation is underway, police said.
