India claims fifth South Asian Triathlon Championship title

Pokhara, April 29: India has secured first position in the fifth South Asian Triathlon Championship held in Pokhara on Saturday.

As for India, athlete Gurudatta completed 750 meters swim, 20 kilometers cycling and five kilometers running in 54 minutes and 51 seconds to claim the title.

Likewise, India's Dilip Kumar Datta got second position while Nepal's BasantaTharu secured third.

In the women's category, India's Pallavi Retiwala secured first position clocking one hour, one minute and three seconds. Nepal's Soni Gurung, and Roja KC got second and third position respectively.

Similarly, in men's group in the sixth Triathlon Championship, Basanta Tharu, Himal Tamata and Rudra Katuwal all of Nepal Army secured first, second and third position respectively.

Likewise, in women's group, Soni Gurung of Armed Police Force, Roja KC and Yam Kumari Bhujel of Nepal Army stood first, second and third respectively. The competition was inaugurated by Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Sripaili and a total of 21 athletes from Nepal, India and Bangladesh participated. RSS
