Ayush Gautam. Bangladesh U19 defeated Nepal U19 by 3 wickets. Losing the toss and invited to bat first Nepal posted 153 runs on the board for the loss of all wickets in 50 overs. Asif Sheikh top scored for Nepal with 32 runs while Bhim Sarki contributed with 28 runs. Despite the entire middle order failing to score runs Pawan Saraff played a sensible innings of 19 runs in 51 balls with 2 four to take Nepal to respectable total. For Bangladesh Hasan Mahmud and Kazi Anik took three wickets each while Nayeem Hasan managed two wickets and Shawkat bagged a wicket.
Chasing for Bangladesh wasn’t as easy one as Sandeep Lamichhane made the job tougher as he picked up 4 wickets in his spell of 10 overs while Pawan Sharaf and Shahab Alam too took a wicket each. Bangladesh opener Naim Sheikh scored a half-century while Towhid Hridly and Kazi Anik played not out innings of 48 runs and 18 runs respectively to ensure Bangladesh Victory.
Kazi Anik was declared as Man of the Match for his all-round contribution in the game.
Second ODI will be played on 4th of November Sunday.
Nepal is currently playing three-match ODI Youth series in Bangladesh prior to Youth Asia Cup.
