October 30, 2017

Kathmandu: The CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) are all set to finalize their common candidates in all constituencies for the second phase of federal and provincial elections by Monday.

A meeting of the party merger coordination committee took a decision to this effect on Sunday.

Maoist Centre Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal shared that they almost finalized the names of common candidates in most of the districts and remaining constituencies of some districts will also be finalized on Monday.

She added that they failed to finalize on Sunday for being the last date for submitting the revised closed lists for federal and provincial elections under the proportional system.

It is learnt that, the UML's standing committee meeting is still taking place to finalize the candidates.
UML Publicity Department secretary Bishnu Rijal shared that the UML has already finalized the proportional candidates for the provincial elections while such candidates for federal elections will also be finalized today itself.
