Legal eagles to debate Nepalese constitution and citizenship in London

Kathmandu- Provision for the citizenship has been one of the most debated issues in Nepal. Even before the promulgation of the constitution, various arguments were made on the citizenship and it has continued till date as it has emerged as one of the most contentious issue.

Come Sunday at the City Law School at 2 to 5 pm, experts will be discussing on the topic ‘Citizenship and the Constitution of Nepal 2015’.

The legal eagles will be discussing on the major three issues— is dual citizenship provided under the constitution of Nepal? , provision for Non-resident Nepalese citizenship and its meaning and Rights of Nepalese citizens with UK Indefinite leave to remain/ enter under article 291.

World-renowned professor Surya Subedi and Professor David Gellner, Dr. Trilochan Upreti, Professor Padam Simkhada and Raju Thapa will be the experts airing their views.

Nepal's ambassador to the UK, Durga Bahadur Subedi will attend the program as a Chief Guest. The event is being organizing by Britain Nepal Lawyers Association and the conclusion from the event will be forwarded to the Nepalese government.
