Nepalese Night is celebrated every year from past 13 years to celebrate the Nepalese Culture by Nepalese community spread throughout the state of Idaho. Every year we come up with a new theme and it is "Embracing Our Culture" this year. Nepalese Night on February 16, 6PM to 9PM (MST Time) or February 17, 6:45 AM to 9:45 AM (GMT in Nepal) will showcase the unique Nepalese Culture that one could experience if s/he travel to Nepal someday.
We provide Nepalese Food and showcase different culture through cultural performances and major Nepalese Festivals depiction. For me Nepalese Night is very special and I wait it all the year round. The love that we receive from the community and students, faculty and staffs at the Idaho State is something that I cannot explain in words. Being over 7,400 miles away from home, 136 full time Nepalese Students studying at ISU work together to bring this beautiful event to the Pocatello community.
I believe Nepalese Night has become a major celebration among Nepalese Bengals at Idaho State and I hope this Bengal Spirit will grow even bigger in the day of event and in the future. The thing that makes us happy is when people from our community, Boise, TwinFalls, Montana and Utah come to enjoy the Nepalese Night. More than 60 students are performing in this year’s event and almost all the Nepalese students are helping in a way or other to make the night successful.
Celebrating Nepalese Night from past 13 years has been challenging in some points but the love that we receive from university and community and all around the world is the best experience. There will also be live streaming of the event at https://www.facebook.com/NepaleseBengals/ .
