One killed, scores injured as police open fire in Dolakha

Kathmandu- A woman was killed during a clash during voting in Melang Gaunpalika in Dolakha district on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, police opened fire in air after some Nepali Congress (NC) cadre's tried to take the polling booth under control.

"The law enforcement agency opened fire in air at around 3:15 pm after NC cadres to take the polling booth under control," a policeman told DC Nepal over telephone, "Police had opened some fire in air. Additional police have been mobilized at the incident site."

Assistant Chief District Officer, Yagya Raj Bhatta confirmed the incident.

"A woman was killed after police clashed with group who had reached there to capture the polling booth," he said.

Triplet sisters cast their votes

Kathmandu - Triplet sister of Tridevinagar of Kathamndu Metropolitan City-32 have cast their votes from Suryakot Polling Centre.

Born in Koteshwor 22 years ago, Shraddha, Kusum and Anjali Singh Ban cast their vote today.

Similarly, Arjun Bahadur Basnet of Koteshwor, who is mourning the death of his father, voted from the polling centre at Nabajyoti School.

Basnet's wife Shanta and son Asim Singh also cast their votes along with him.
