Prosperity to be achieved by ending corruption: Home Minister Thapa

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Sunday pointed out that prosperity would be achieved by maintaining social justice and equality by ending corruption.

He was of the view that socialism could be put into full practice by achieving peace and stability by making the society moral, disciplined and dignified through Buddha philosophy. He was speaking at an identity card distribution programme organised here by the Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee.

He also viewed that funds used in the purchase of weapons for wars should go to the investment in education and health, referring to millions of rupees spent on purchasing weapons for wars.

Likewise, State Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Dhan Bahadur Buda pointed out importance of Buddhist literature while putting his view that much income could be generated by making Lumbini a religious tourist site. 

Executive officer of the Committee Narendra Bahadur Gurung stressed the need for conserving culture and heritage of various communities of the country.
