Kathmandu - Newly elected President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Bhawani Rana today said the government and private sector should take efforts jointly to take the country on the path to development.
Saying the umbrella body was working for the social and economic development of the country, she said it would also engage in efforts to create employment opportunities for youths.
Rana was speaking at a face-to-face programme organised by Reporters' Club in the Capital. Pledging to continue FNCCI's previous projects and drive it in consistent with the new federal setups, she said, "We (FNCCI) will work on the project to construct smart cities in all seven provinces in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Development."
Also speaking on the occasion, FNCCI senior Vice President Shekhar Golchha said the FNCCI would undertake development endeavors from the rural to the urban level in the days ahead. He pledged to end the culture of groupism within the organisation and run it effectively.
Associate Vice President Chandra Dhakal insisted on the need of cultivating the cordial relationship between labour and entrepreneurs to get an expected outcome in the business sector.
The newly elected FNCCI treasurer Gyanendra Lal Shrestha pledged to operate its fund in a transparent manner and take all possible measures to establish a technical school at home. RSS
