A clash occurred between the cadres of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and police in front of the Election Commission (EC) on Monday. The clash was ensued after the protesters tried to cross the restricted zone.
RPP senior leader Pashupati Shamsher Rana and other cadres were injured in the clash with the police as they tried to breach the restricted zone at Jamal during the protest and the police tried to prevent them from doing so.
Speaking after the clash, leader Rana lamented the police action over the party’s cadres. He said that it was a regrettable incident as they were thrashed by police during the peaceful protest and further warned of quitting the government if EC did not correct its decision.
RPP is in protest after the EC recently removed the portion of Hindu state and Monarchy from the party statute stating that it contradicted the constitution.
